The Beginning After The End

Arthur Leywin From The Beginning After The End

It is a reincarnation isekai in which a king is reborn as a baby mage in a fantasy world – solid world-building and a magic system with depth.

I really enjoyed how the MC grows through genuine struggle instead of the usual power-fantasy spam, and the character development hits harder than most isekai trash. Although the first 50 chapters drag with info dumps and side characters merely serving as NPCs.
As for the art, it’s okay (and the artist quit), plus later arcs lean too heavily on suffering drama. I’d still binge it for the magic system and emotional moments, but don’t expect Berserk-level writing—it’s a fun comfort read.

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime

Rimuru From That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime

In this fun isekai power fantasy, a corporate drone gets stabbed and turns into a slimy blob in a fantasy world. I like how Rimuru’s journey feels like it’s really moving forward. He starts out weak but gets stronger as he learns new skills and brings monsters together. The world-building is also great.

I think the main problem is that Rimuru doesn’t have to work very hard, solutions come to him easily, and the stakes aren’t always high. If you want a cozy isekai story with characters you can relate to, I would suggest this.

Damn Reincarnation

Eugene Lionhart Damn Reincarnation

A warrior comes back to life 300 years later in the body of a descendant to finish what he started—this is a solid regression manhwa with high stakes.

I like how the MC earns his power instead of getting cheat codes right away, and I like how the plot stays focused on his original goal without getting sidetracked by random detours. People mostly complain about how slow the story is and how the main character’s friends make fun of him all the time.

I should also warn you that the series has been on hiatus for over a year now, so you may want to tackle the novel instead

The Saga Of Tanya The Evil

Tanya From The Saga Of Tanya The Evil

In Saga of Tanya the Evil, a sociopathic HR manager is reincarnated as a little girl in a war-torn magical Germany-and I find it a lot more gripping than that sounds.

I love how it turns military strategy and brutal trench warfare into something genuinely exciting, with great art and a documentarian vibe that reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist. I liked the battle details, and cutting out the excessive worldbuilding from the light novel made sense.

The downside- It gets bogged down in too much war theory, which slows the pacing, and the plot beats are pretty predictable if you know your WWI/WWII history. It’s still worth a read because Tanya’s ruthless pragmatism and twisted morality make it a wild ride, even when it’s hard to follow.

Re: Monster

ROU From Re: Monster

The main character of “Re:Monster” eats monsters in order to obtain their abilities and build an army of demons. On paper, it sounds cool. Some people may find the nation-building and power-absorption systems appealing, but the execution is poor: slow pacing and no tension because you know he wins every fight. The actual deal-breaker? The series is extremely uncomfortable to read because it contains mature themes and disturbing content that is handled far too lightly. Since there are better monster isekais out there, I would personally pass on this one.

Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady With The Lamp

Main characters From Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady With the Lamp

Doctor Elise is a medical isekai where a spoiled villainess dies, reincarnates as a modern surgeon, then gets isekai’d back to her original life to redo it with her medical genius powers. I really liked the early chapters—Elise is competent without being insufferable, the medical stuff is fun to watch, and her relationship with the ML is actually healthy (no toxicity for once). The art’s gorgeous too, especially after the first few chapters.

But here’s the thing: it gets boring after the first major arc, the ML has zero personality, and Elise is such a Mary Sue that she’s literally perfect at everything, which kills the tension. It’s a solid comfort read if you want something light and feel-good, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking—just a pretty, chill medical fantasy that overstays its welcome a bit.

Be The Actor

MC Of Be The Actor

Be The Actor is a regression manhwa about a failed actor who is sent back to childhood and uses what he knows to become a star. He doesn’t have any powers or a system; he just has acting talent. I love that the author writes full movie and drama scripts and lets the main character perform them instead of just talking about acting like most showbiz manhwa do.

The emotional beats hit hard (everyone is crying while reading this). It’s a nice touch that the MC gets so into his roles that the cameras disappear and it feels real to him. Some people think he’s too perfect (the Gary Stu debate), and the pacing gets a little off when he goes from big to small projects. If you want a wholesome, emotional showbiz story that really respects the art of acting, I’d binge this.

Reborn As A Scholar

Main characters From Reborn As A Scholar

In the murim reincarnation tale Reborn as a Scholar (also known as The Scholar’s Reincarnation), a violent martial artist dies and is reborn as a nobleman’s son who tries to change while his father makes him study rather than fight. It’s slower paced but delves into relationships and personal growth rather than being another power-fantasy speedrun, so I liked the character-focused approach.

The MC truly feels like he’s changing from his murder-hobo past life. It’s entertaining to watch him strike a balance between his scholarly life and his warrior instincts, and the family dynamics are wholesome (doting parents, little sister to protect). The slow pacing is the primary problem; if you were hoping for action spam like Solo Levelling, this isn’t it, and some arcs drag when he’s made to study. For those who prefer character development to endless arguments, I would say it’s a good comfort read.

So I’m A Spider, So What?

Spider Form So I'm a Spider, So What?

So I’m a Spider, So What? is a dungeon-survival isekai where a girl gets reincarnated as a weak spider monster and has to crawl her way up the food chain with RPG mechanics—peak “gonna die any second” energy. I love Kumoko’s personality; the manga really nails her sarcastic internal monologues and gives her so many expressive faces that sell the comedy and desperation perfectly. The worldbuilding is solid too, with good mysteries and major twists that keep you hooked through the first 5-6 volumes.

The problem is the human hero side story (Shun) is painfully generic and boring—every time it cuts away from spider action to his chapters, the energy just dies. I’d recommend it for the spider half alone, but be ready to skim whenever the boring hero kid shows up.

Superstar From Age 0

Lee Seojun From Superstar From Age 0

This showbiz reincarnation manhwa is about a guy who has lived more than 1000 lives. He is reborn as a baby and uses his past-life skills to become a star.

I love how sweet and fluffy it is. The kid is adorable, and the family relationships are sweet. It’s like watching a genius baby ace every audition. The art is also very cute. But the story isn’t very interesting beyond “unlock past life abilities, win roles, repeat,” and the characters don’t change (he’s already OP). If you like pure fluff and don’t care about depth, you can binge it.

My Personal Favorites: Best Reincarnation Manhwa and manga

I know, that’s a lot of titles. You’re probably looking at this list and wondering, “Ashu, what should I read first?”. You just have to go with your vibe right now.

You can pick your next obsession with this Ashu Cheat Sheet:

  • Go for Damn Reincarnation or Saga of Tanya the Evil if you want violence and stakes. This isn’t for the faint of heart – it’s gritty, tactical, and the protagonists don’t hold back.
  • If you want to cry (in a good way): Read Be The Actor. It’s not about fighting dragons; it’s about fixing family relationships and chasing dreams. Trust me, have tissues ready.
  • For a chill, comforting read, try That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime or Doctor Elise. They are low-stress, fun, and you know everything is going to work out for the MC.

Note: Whenever possible, make sure to support the original creators by reading on official platforms like Webtoon and Tapas.

Don’t forget to bookmark this page! I’m constantly reading new stuff (and dropping the trash), so I’ll be updating this list whenever a new banger drops.

Now, go get lost in a new world. Happy reading!
